Martins Fruits is a family-run, independent business established in 1989.
We sell high-quality fruit & vegetables, nuts, dried fruit, honey and eggs from our retail unit in Derby City Centre. Our friendly and experienced staff are on hand to make your shopping trip a pleasant and informative one! Our ultimate goal is to make available to all, a wide range of really top quality fresh produce.
We direct our buying team to source local, seasonal, English produce whenever possible and to prioritize over produce with a higher carbon footprint. We are also close to our target of being 100% plastic-free by avoiding pre-packed produce and plastic bags. We now provide a service for home delivery produce boxes, our range includes- set fruit & veg boxes in medium and large and we also take bespoke orders and commercial orders.

Our family business was established in 1989 by James Martin. He had a real love for the city of Derby, moving here when he was in his teens and settling down and starting a family. Following many years of travelling abroad with his work he made the brave decision to put his career on hold and look for something new . On his travels he liked to wonder around the cities and towns and experienced a wide range of European markets, this gave him the inspiration he needed. He decided to buy a market stall in the Eagle Centre and proceeded to make available, a wonderful array of high quality fresh produce for the people of Derby to enjoy and talk about.
James continued to run and build Martins fruits until his retirement. The business is now run and managed by his son David and his daughter Caroline who are just as passionate about the city and the business.
